Night Dwellers
Night Dwellers is a citizen science app designed to help users track local possums, gliders and flying fox sightings. The goal is to learn about their presence, vulnerabilities and involve the community in helping preserve these species. The concept, visual identity and illustrations are all, of course, original creations.
Problem
Possums, gliders, and flying foxes are ecologically critical species that are increasingly threatened, and are largely nocturnal. Meaningful data on their presence and movements is difficult to gather without community involvement. Public awareness of their vulnerabilities is low, and existing conservation tools are either academic-facing or lacking in engagement.
Project Brief
Design a mobile experience that is informational, visually engaging, and accessible to a wide audience from wildlife enthusiasts to curious locals with no prior conservation knowledge. The app should make participation feel rewarded and interactions effortless. While the brand identity should feel distinctive, featuring all the animals that can be tracked
